U12 Boys – Laragh v Killygarry

Our U12s travelled to Stradone on Tuesday evening last to take on Laragh on a glorious evening for football. The Red team got off to a good start with Cian Keaney, playing in the full forward line, latching early on to some quality ball from the midfield pairing of Reilly and Oisín McCabe to take some fine scores. At the interval our boys held a 4 point lead. The second half saw us take complete control with Keaney and Reilly now in the engine room and half backs McDermott and Tubuliti getting forward at every opportunity. The forwards were getting a plentiful supply of the ball resulting in goals for Conor Gilsenan, Liam McMillan, Neili Tubuliti and Dean McNamara. There was no way back for the home team. This was a great all-round performance with Cameron Reilly excellent in goals. The full back line of Ben Murphy and Jude McManus were not going to be passed. The forwards which saw the return of Martin Shields from injury all contributed handsomely.
Red Team – Cameron Reilly, Ben Murphy, Jude McManus, Sean McDermott (0-02), Neili Tubuliti (2-02), Oisín McCabe, Neil Reilly (1-09), Josh O’Hagan, Dean McNamara (1-02), Liam McMillan (1-00), Cian Keaney (2-09), Martin Shields, Conor GIlsenan (1-00).
The Black team’s game proved to be a much tighter contest. The boys took some heavy knocks in this battle and frees were hard-earned. Laragh held a 7 point lead at half time due to some excellent saves by their keeper with Noonan, Waters and Cosgrove all being just denied goals. The second half saw the introduction of Ciaran Sheridan which proved to be a big help to the defence. The midfield pairing of Cosgrove and McDonald now had gained the upper hand and were creating plenty of chances for the forwards. Great work by the two Cosgrove brothers resulted in the younger lad finding the net for the second time. Then goals started to come with Noonan (2), Waters and Gabriel Cosgrove all netting. Noonan’s final goal proved enough to get a share of the spoils. The backs and in particular Rossa Greaney, Oisín Caffrey, Cormac Breslin and Callum Kelly were solid throughout. Daire Moran, Adam Kelly, Daragh Donohoe and Dylan Wall all contributed to a great performance.
