CLUB KILLYGARRY – END OF YEAR UPDATE

Club Killygarry was launched in conjunction with our Club Development Plan in December 2010. The purpose of Club Killygarry is to assist with building up a fund that will help offset repayments on the development works being carried out on our pitch.

In it’s first full year Club Killygarry has raised over €9000. This is a brilliant outcome for year one and the club wish to sincerely thank the fifty members who contributed to the fund by lump sum payment or monthly debit.

Each contributor will shortly receive a Club Killygarry report together with a receipt for your contribution in 2011. If your contribution exceeded €250 and you are a PAYE tax payer then the club may claim an income tax refund on your behalf under the tax relief scheme for donations to eligible charities and approved bodies. This refund is only available to the club. The club will forward the necessary declaration form CHY2 for signing. You are asked to please sign the declaration and return to Mark Greaney, (Club Killygarry Designated Officer) as soon as you can.

The Club is also encouraging new members to join Club Killygarry for 2012. As you will have seen from our annual accounts, regular fundraising events will still be needed to keep the day to day activities of the club running. If we can increase the numbers contributing to Club Killygarry, it will help to ease the burden on those within our club who have the onerous task of trying to come up with new ways of raising funds.

For €21 per month you will be linking up with an existing group of fifty members who have already decided that Club Killygarry is a worthwhile investment to secure a brighter future for our club and the young people of the area. For further details please contact Kevin Reilly, Paul Bates or Mark Greaney (Club Killygarry Designated Officer).

Again the club acknowledge that it is a difficult time to ask members to make a commitment to contribute monthly and that the scheme does not suit everyone.

However if you do decide to join you can be assured that your contribution will be put to good use and it will make a difference.

CLUB MERCHANDISE

Based on the Ulster GAA’s Gaelic Start Programme, training concentrates on basic ball skills such as catching, throwing and kicking and the ABC’s of all sports, agility, balance and co-ordination. All activities are fun based in an environment aimed at giving children a chance to play, make new friends and develop an interest in football, all at the same time. Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian who can also help out when the sessions are in progress. Training will last for about 50 minutes.

Killykickers will continue every Saturday 9.30am to 10.30am at the Cavan Sports Complex for an eight to ten week period. Contact Damien Keaney (086-0523220) or John Gilsenan (086-8265247) for further information.
