Crubany Girls in 2012 Cumann na mBunscoil Final
The girls started their campaign against Butlersbridge N.S. The game was played in Butlersbridege in windy conditions. Crubany dominated from the start in a game they never looked like losing. Their second game was a much tougher assignment against a physically stronger Killygarry N.S. side, local rivals. The game was played on a very hot day on Killygarry pitch. It was a very entertaining game with neither side particularly dominant. The game ebbed and flowed and both teams matched each other score for score. It was Killygarry who approached the last few minutes leading by two points. However Crubany never gave up and a goal with the last kick of the game ensured the win went to Crubany. Crubany went into the last game against tournament favourites, Crosskeys, with the winner progressing to the final. The game was played in Killygarry. It was a high tempo game with Crubany starting stronger and going 1-1 to no score up. However as the half wore on, Crosskeys came back into it and went in at half time leading by a point. Crubany re-grouped at half time and started the second half stronger, taking the lead early on with a goal. In the last quarter of the game Crubany pushed on and sealed their place in the final with a five point win.
Crubany now face Drumkilly in the Cumann na mBunscoil final in Breffni Park on Saturday 16th June.
